Who is Dr. Ben Carson? He is the man behind the movie ‘Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story’ which was portrayed by Cuba Gooding, Jr. Dr. Benjamin Solomon Carson, MD was born in 1951 in Detroit, Mich. At age 33, Dr. Ben Carson became the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Hospital. In 1987, Carson made medical history with an operation to separate a pair of conjoined twins, becoming the first surgeon to successfully save both twins.
