Rest In Peace Corazon “Cory” Aquino…

August 01, 2009 at 3:18 a.m., former President Cory Aquino died of cardio-respiratory arrest at age 76 after battling from colon cancer.

“Before she died, her children were around her, praying the fifth sorrowful mystery of the rosary … That was when she drew her last breath,” TV host Boy Abunda, a close friend of Aquino’s celebrity daughter Kris Aquino, told reporters at the hospital lobby at around 5:40 a.m. [Inquirer]

I was still a baby during the time when Cory and all the Filipinos who have fought for our country’s democracy against the Marcoses at EDSA happened. But I was able to know her on our history classes and what she did for our country is remarkable. She may not be the best President but the Filipinos loved her because she is a true person who loved her country so much and risk her life just to have the freedom that we are having now… Thank you Cory, may your soul rest in peace…
