Apple says “NO” to iPhone Opera Browser! Why?
Opera CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner told the NY Times in a recent interview that Opera’s engineers have developed a browser capable of running on the iPhone, but Apple won’t let the App be released as it competes with Safari Mobile. [Source]
Opera is the first mobile browser to bring the full Web to the small mobile screen and it is one of the world’s most popular mobile web browsers. Opera is also known for being fast and secure, as well as accessible to a wide range of users. but Apple has prevented iPhone users from using it. This isn’t the first time that Apple has rejected software for duplicating core functionality. In September, Apple said no to MailWrangler, a program that simplified accessing multiple Gmail accounts. Around the same time, the company also declined to host Al Sokirynsky’s Podcaster app, which allowed users to download podcasts and play them on the iPhone.
Tsk3.. Personally, I have used Opera mini browser in my mobile phone and it is good, although I haven’t tried Apple’s Safari browser. Hmmm… Has anyi=one of you tried the two browsers and which one is the best?

2I have tried both on two different devices. Apple’s Safari Browser is better.
But it doesn’t hurt to have an alternative browser on the iPhone.
