Mamma Maria’s Pizzeria in Davao City

    May 23, 2010 // 6 Comments »

And because there was a power outage, I went out and tried the newly open pizza place in town, the Mamma Maria’s Pizzeria. The place is just small but they’re not running out of customers. It’s always full whenever I’ve passed through the place a few times since it’s opening just this month. Anyways, we’ve opted to try the Kebab Pizza, but our order would take a while since there are lots of customers ahead of us. They were also offering Pasta’s, so we also tried their Carbonara. There’s one pizza that caught my attention, the Crocodile Pizza, I wonder what it taste like, maybe we’ll try that one next time. :)

    I Love Balut!

    October 11, 2008 // 9 Comments »

    What is a Balut?

A Balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. They are common, everyday food in some countries in Southeast Asia, such as in the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors at night in the regions where they are available. They are often served with beer. The Filipino and Malay word balut (balot) means “wrapped” – depending on pronunciation.
